How does teletherapy work?

Online therapy sessions take place via Zoom's HIPAA-compliant video platform. We will provide you with a recurring link to log in weekly!

What type of device do I need for online speech therapy?

Your child can attend teletherapy sessions anywhere that they have access to Wi-Fi! They can use a laptop, computer, or tablet.

Is teletherapy as effective as in-person therapy?

For most children, yes! Teletherapy is an evidence-backed service delivery model for speech therapy. Please reach out if you would like to discuss whether your child is a good fit for online therapy.

What are the benefits of online speech therapy for kids?

Online speech therapy has many benefits, including but not limited to: scheduling flexibility, cost savings (no gas & no driving), opportunity for caregivers to get involved, and learning/practicing new skills in the child's natural environment.

Do I need to be present for my child's online therapy session?

You will need to be present in the home for the duration of your child's session. For younger children who are unable to access a computer independently, we recommend that you remain seated with them for their session. This will also allow you to learn the skills and techniques that are being implemented so that you can follow-up between sessions!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?

At this time we are private pay only. This allows us to focus on therapy that is tailored to the client's/family's goals without having to go through any insurance hurdles to prove "medical necessity."

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept credit cards and HSA cards.

What is the cancellation policy?

Sessions must be canceled/rescheduled by 9am Eastern the day of your appointment or are subject to a 50% late-cancel session fee. If you completely no-show your appointment, the full session fee will be charged.

How long will my child need speech therapy?

Length of therapy varies based on the area of deficit and diagnoses. More frequent therapy and consistent practice between session are two indicators that may decrease the length of therapy. A more detailed answer can be provided during your initial consultation or evaluation based on your specific situation.

How often will teletherapy sessions take place?

Therapy frequency depends on the area of need, age, attention span, and other relevant factors. Most often clients receive once or twice weekly therapy sessions for 30 minutes.

What if my child already gets speech therapy at school?

We see many families using virtual therapy as a supplement to their school therapy. Private therapy allows for more frequent practice and also provides parents with the opportunity to observe and learn from the therapist. In many cases, we don't even need to do a new evaluation and can just support the goals identified through your child's IEP.

Do you offer free screenings?

We offer complimentary Zoom or telephone consultations. If you're unsure whether your loved one requires speech therapy, bring them along to the consultation and the therapist can assist with making that determination.

What if my child didn't qualify for early intervention or school-based speech therapy?

That's the beauty of private speech therapy! Your child does not need to "qualify" for services. Yes, we can help!

Do you offer in-home sessions?

At this time, all of our therapy services take place virtually.

What if my child had online schooling/virtual therapy before and he didn't like it, pay attention, etc.?

At this point, we have a 100% "return rate" - meaning that no child that has begun services with us has needed to discontinue due to lack of interest, engagement, or attention span. We work hard to ensure our sessions are so fun that your child will look forward to them!

What ages do you work with?

Every Voice works with mainly pediatric clients from ages 3 years and up. We also see adult clients based on their area of need.
